The trick to submiting links is to find sites that are still active. I sumited my site to over a hundred sites and only getting a few approvels. Some sites will have a “pending links” number, if the number is more than 1,000 your chances of being approved is slim. When you make your reciprocal link page don’t just put all your links on the page. Put notes by the links like date submited and review time. Also look at the link and see if it is for the same site that you are submiting your link to. If it is not then put a note next to that link. Make a note of witch catagory you submited it to. Always check the category that you submit to if you are using a form fill program like RoboForm because each site has different categorys and sub-categorys. Form fill programs will find the first match and that may not be the right one. Another form fill helper is an addon for firefox called Autofill Forms and another is InFormEnter. I also found this submiter but never used it called digixmas. I found that you should go to places where they submit directories to directories. Check my list here. Then find the more recent ones. Many times when you submit a link you will get an email confirmation and some have more directories in them.
You also need a reciprocal link checker the best free ones that I found are M6.Net Link Checker and Link Verify 1.86
Most common reasons a site is rejected is spamming of keywords in title or description. Your site consists of all advertising or extensive advertising which may include popups popunders etc. Putting your url into the title or description doorway page or under construction or for sale website not in English. Poor design. Reciprocal link isn’t located on home page or 1 click away from home page or accessible from home page and visible to all it’s users. Or the links page has excessive links on it. Or the links page tells the spiders no index, no follow, or your robots.txt file denies access to the location that the links information is and doesn’t permit the search engines to index or spider. The links information has the no follow attribute. The links information is a php redirect.
Research each directory and categories that will fit your domain/sites. Another reason why manual directory submissions are far much better than automatic blasters or auto submissions is that you need to think through very carefully what categories fit your sites. Disregarding this important research about your site will not save you from millions of unrelated commercial messages (spam) done on your email.
Value Rank (V.R.) it is a custom algorithm which take in consideration 3 main factors: – traffic, website quality and price, each of them divided into several other variables in order to give a final score from 0 to 10. This score represent the so called “bang for buck” and shows how valuable your submission might be in any of the directories listed. Value Rank (V.R.) does not take in consideration Page Rank, Alexa, Page Strength or any other third part metrics.
